Argyll and Bute Meeting
We are having a meeting with Argyll and Bute Council on Thursday 4th March, 11.00am Victoria Halls. The meeting is to discuss funding, we do not know what exactly they want to say but it is most likely to inform us about a reduction in our grants as Argyll and Bute is having to make large cuts across the board. Given that we are already struggling with funding any cut would be hugely disappointing.
If you can please come along on the 4th to demonstrate to the council how important Fun First is to Helensburgh. If you can't attend the meeting a few of our parents have started a petition which will be available for you to sign at your next session.
Please help us by showing the council your support for Fun First.

Fun First Needs you (find out how you can help on your Fundraising page)
Due to the current financial climate Fun First is struggling to find funds to continue our work. As you all know Fun First offers a vital resource to our local community. It is a chance for children and parents to have fun together, learn, meet new friends and regain some sanity, to name but a few.
At the moment the group has enough funds to continue to run only until April/ May 2010. Carolyn and I have been working hard to apply for as many grants as we can, and we will continue to do so, however many of these applications we will not hear about until the summer. We need as much help from you as we can if the group is going to survive this period.
Can everyone please start looking for funding for running costs for charities and also fundraising ideas. If you could gather as much information on anything you find and pass it your leader or email it back to me here. We of course also need volunteers who may not be able commit to being part of the committee but would be willing to help with fundarising events as they occur.
We really need all your support.
We now have a whole list of fundraising activities that are coming up soon please see if you can help by going to our fundraising page.
Swine Flu
Following guidelines from the Scottish Government, issued to groups working with young children, we taking a few common sense precautions to limit the spread of the swine flu.
All children get runny noses and illnesses from time to time and for the great majority of children swine flu is still a mild illness. We are, however, asking you not to bring your child to the session if either you or your child is suffering from flu like symptoms and a temperature of over 38o.
Fun First will also be providing hand sanitizers and tissues at each of the sessions to help promote good hygiene. If you have any particular concerns about your child due to existing medical conditions, which may make them more vulnerable, please contact your GP for advice.
Many thanks for your help on this matter.
